PITCHFORK RANCH HORSE SALE CONSIGNORS:
Consignors, PLEASE bring horses to this sale that are sound and gentle, as needed and appreciated by the Buyers.
We do our best to promote the horses and bring the consignors a good price for the time and effort they have put into the training of these horses.
Pitchfork Ranch Horse Sale reserves the right to refuse any horse not meeting the Pitchfork Ranch Horse Sale Quality.

Steps for Nominating Your Consignment
- New Consignors: Provide a video of your horse to T.J. at 307.272.4563 via text message.
Past consignor: Please call T.J. 307.272.4563 or to review consignments you wish to bring.
- Beginning Oct. 10th (Prior to Sale Year) Once T.J. says you are approved to nominate your horse, an invoice will be emailed to make your payment.
- Nomination Fee: $300 by CHECK or $310 by credit card or ACH, see invoice for payment info.
Mail Check payable to Clark Management Company, and mail to 1414 Highway 14A, Powell, WY 82435.
- Please provide your email, phone number and mailing address.
- Buyers come from as far away as Alaska, Hawaii, N.Y., Maine, N.C., etc. we want to stress that ALL approved consignments, the Consignor grants Pitchfork Ranch Horse Sale the EXCLUSIVE RIGHT TO SELL their consignment.
- Upon receipt of your payment a User Name and Password shall be emailed to you with the instructions for completing each nomination page. Minimum Requirement: 4 required photos (see below), 1 YouTube video; all consignment info plus consignor's Bio page.
- Original Registered Horses, Papers must be in the consignor/seller's name to guarantee the horse as being registered. We reserve the right to withhold Checks until the Original Registration papers are accurate.
- Fee for Clark Management Company Inc. to handle Registration Transfer: $200
- As of December 15th
- Nominations must be paid in full and consignment page(s) completed.
- After this date no substitutions or replacements are allowed.
- Deadline for Receipt of Original Registration Papers
- Deadline for Receipt of A copyright release if photographer insignia is shown on any photo
- After this date - No nomination refunds are allowed.
- After December 15th- Sifted nominations (animals not allowed to be cataloged to sale) shall be returned Registered Papers and refund of fees.
- After this date consignors will have NO Access for changes to any horse sale pages. Any changes will be made by Clark Management Company by notification via email to amy@pitchforkranchhorsesale.com
- REQUIRED PHOTOS (Minimum of 4 as listed below) *Hire a Professional photographer for best recognition & higher sale prices*Photo’s must be 300-dpi, jpg format, and a minimum of 1MB up to a maximum of 3 MB, do not crop photos.
- 1 Side View, saddled and bridled (NO halter)
- 1 Head Shot, saddled and bridled, include front shoulder (be sure ears are forward & not chopped off)
- 1 Conformation photo, no saddle, side view
- 1 Photo of Horse in an activity or event with rider
- REQUIRED: Youtube Video (minimum of 1 ) - for each consignment for use on the Auction-YouTube Channel, Facebook, Superior Productions advertising and other social media. Website allows for a maximum of 5 YouTube video’s.
- Superior Productions does not use photo's, they ONLY use the main YouTube video!
- Upon uploading any photo/video to the website, consignor grants permission for it’s use for the promotion of the horses in posters, flyers and the catalogue and may be used at the discretion of Clark Management.
- As with any sale, the fat, slick, gentle-broke to ride horses are the ones that bring the best money. Be sure your photo’s represent the very best qualities of your horse.
BE SURE YOUR HEIGHT, WEIGHT, AGE, other information & description is Absolutely Accurate! Please indicate any blemishes your horse may have including, scars, bumps or anything out of the normal. (Leave no grounds for unacceptance of a buyer's bid.)
HORSES GUARANTEE: Each Horse sold at Pitchfork Ranch Horse Sale will be guaranteed sound by the consignor. If the horse is not considered sound, the buyer has until Monday following the sale, at 12 noon to have T.J. Clark's veterinarian inspect the horse. T.J Clark will make the final determination as to soundness of the horse. If the horse is considered unsound, the buyer will be returned his purchase price, less fees. The seller of an unsound horse will not be paid for the horse and will be responsible for any fees in conjunction with the sale fees.
TRANSPORTATION: Leaving Pitchfork Ranch
- Band Inspections: REQUIRED on all Horses:
A Brand Inspection (AKA Ownership Papers) is included in the horses payment at checkout and MUST BE OBTAINED from the Brand Inspector once you have paid for your horse. All horses will be charged a brand inspection fee by state law of $15.00 (or current fee as set by the Wyoming Livestock Board)
Leaving OUT of Wyoming (A Veterinarian will be on the grounds to provide all horses going out of state a current Health Inspection and Coggins)
o Coggins: All horses SOLD have a coggins test current within six months of sale date and is provided by the Consignors. YOU MUST obtain this from the Veterinarian
o Health Papers: Fees should be included with the horse payment at checkout; $10.00 per animal; International Health is additional $150
- PRIVATE SALES: Consignor agrees to not privately sell the horse once consigned to the Pitchfork Ranch Horse Sale. To withdraw your original consigned horse from the Pitchfork Ranch Horse Sale it must be injured or sick and must have a vet release and photo to waive the no sale/no show fee. Management feels this is unfair to the consignors and buyers who have traveled to attend the sale. All horses brought to the sale must be consigned and go through our auction ring. We will leave it up to the integrity of the seller to forward any commission on horses that go through the ring as no sales, but are sold because of the advertising and efforts of the Pitchfork Ranch Horse Sale.

SOUNDNESS GUARANTEE
- See out of both eyes clearly and correctly
- Will be correct in the air
- Will not crib
- Will beat on all 4 feet soundly.
SOUNDNESS does not guarantee a vet check. If the buyer wishes to have a presale vet check, the buyer must contact the consignor and make arrangements with a vet in Meeteetse or Cody or near the consignor's location.
Get extra exposure and recognition with your consignment in the various ranch horse events.
CHECK-IN:
All horses must be checked in no later than Friday at 10a.m. at the Pitchfork Ranch Horse Sale Office.
- Stalls will be provided for each consigned horse. **
- The Friday morning 8 am Visual Vet Inspection is required for all horses before they can be sold in the Auction, see Above Auction Soundness Guarantee.
HORSE COMMISSION and NO SALES:
- An 8% commission or a minimum of $500 charge on all horses sold.
- There will be a NO SALE charge of 8% of the final bid or $500 whichever is greater.
- If a horse is pulled from the sale (scratched) or sifted by the sale committee there will be a no sale fee of $500 in addition to the catalog fee.
- Animals that are rejected by the buyer because they are misrepresented in the ring will be charged 8%, same as if sold. Our veterinarian and T.J. Clark must check these animals and will make the final determination whether there was misrepresentation.
REQUIREMENT FOR HORSES COMING TO THE SALE:
- All horses must have a coggins test current within six months of sale date.
- All horses coming from a brand state & out of Park County must have a Brand Inspection.
- All out of state horses must have current Health Papers to enter sale premises. NO EXCEPTIONS.
All horses will be charged a $15.00 (or current fee as set by the Wyoming Livestock Board) brand inspection fee by state law.
CONSIGNORS' CHECKS:
All consignors' checks will be mailed out within 10 business days of sale date. This allows time to verify any lien positions of the legal owner of the horse.
EXCEPTION: We reserve the right to hold the Auction Check until any irregularity of consigned horses including Original Registration Papers is satisfied.
T.J. Clark reserves the right to refuse to sell a horse in the Pitchfork Ranch Horse Sale if it is deemed unsafe for potential buyers or the horse is not shown as described by the catalog descriptions.
